In an effort to better address the public's general questions and concerns regarding H1N1 Influenza and the availability of H1N1 vaccine locally, the Shawnee County Healthy Agency (SCHA) along with St. Francis Health Center and Stormont-Vail HealthCare have activated use of the United Way's 2-1-1 line. With the increase in calls and the need to get information out timely, Shawnee County residents are being encouraged to call 2-1-1 for information specific to Shawnee County.
By calling 2-1-1, residents will be able to get up-to-date information regarding the following areas:
- Current H1N1 vaccine situation
- Who is eligible to get vaccinated now
- Symptoms of H1N1
- Steps to protect one's self and family this flu season
- What to do if you think you have the flu
When calling 2-1-1, there may be a slight pause and you will then be directed to press the number 7 to connect with a call center representative.
In addition to 2-1-1, information will continue to be updated through local media as well as Shawnee County Health Agency's website at http://www.snco.us/ha as it is available. Stormont-Vail HealthCare is also providing information through their Health Connections line at 354-5225 or their flu information line at 354-6789.
