6th Grade Promotions Being Made Uniform
Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, Seaman elementary schools will make uniform our 6th grade promotion ceremonies. For many years the elementary schools have had 6th grade promotion activities, ranging from simple building assemblies to elaborate productions in other buildings. Upon recommendation of the sixth grade teachers who feel that there needs to be consistency within the district and that 8th grade promotion and high school graduation need to be spotlighted, the district administrators agreed with their recommendation to make uniform our 6th grade promotions with the 2009-2010 school year. All buildings will continue to have recognition activities during the school day recognizing the 6th graders for their achievements. These types of activities are presently held in several buildings and have been a successful way of recognizing our students.
