Pleasant Hill's Barnes & Noble Book Fair

December 12, 2008

Tuesday, December 9 from 5:30-8:30 Barnes & Noble opened their doors to Pleasant Hill families and friends.  Several staff members performed a Readers theater play entitled The Web Files.  Mrs. Broadbent played Web, Mrs. Raines - the Dirty Rat, Mrs. Renner - Horse, Mrs. Pittman - Audience, Mrs. Morrow - Bill, Mrs. Pollom - Sheep, Mrs. Vinduska - Little Boy Blue, Mrs. Peyton - Hen, and Ms. Swanson - Narrator.  If you ask the Dirty Rat (Mrs. Raines), I believe she would say she was framed.  After the Reader's Theater production, Mr. Mathes, our district superintendent read to our Pleasant Hill students Click Clack Moo and If You Take a Mouse to School.  Througout the evening there was tattooing and bookmark making for all!!  Mrs. Raines ended the evening with reading a book called Why Epossumondas Has No Tail.  This fundraiser was an exciting way to promote reading and supporting the school.  The Pleasant Hill PTO earned about $1000 that will help buy books for the classrooms.  Thank you to all of the Pleasant Hill families for coming out on such a cold and blustery night!!
