East Indianola Named Challenge Award Winner

The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has awarded East Indianola Elementary School a Certificate of Merit as part of the 6th Annual Challenge Awards. This award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas Assessment results from 2007 and other qualifying factors, specifically, ethnicity and socio-economic status of those taking the tests. East Indianola has been recognized as a result of its performance on the 3rd grade reading assessment.
For this assessment, 70 state schools were identified as high performing. From those 70, the top score from 10 regions was selected for a certificate of merit. East Indianola is one of fifty-one schools statewide to receiv this award.
Mrs. Kim Crooks, principal and 3rd grade teachers Terry Cotton and Valerie Canady will be recognized and receive the certificate Wednesday November 14th at Goddard High School.
