Background Information:

Tonya and her husband, Mike, have been married almost 20 years. They have two children, Nick, a freshman at Washburn Rural High School, and Alex, a 7th grader at Washburn Rural Middle School. We like to be active in their children's activities. Nick plays trumpet and is active in the WaRu Marching Band, WRHS Symphonic Band, WRHS Jazz Band, and the Topeka Youth Jazz Band. Alex is involved in sports and especially enjoys wrestling, baseball, and tennis. Both boys are involved in Boy Scouts. Mike and Tonya are coaches, volunteers, and leaders. Their family enjoys their pets, a Shetland Sheepdog named Riley, a Blue Crown Conuer (Parrot) named Jazz, and two yellow Tabby cats named Willie and mac. She is an avid K-State fan, likes to read, listen to music, teach, shop, scrapbook, and watch her boys in any of the activities in which they participate. Tonya is glad to teach in the Seaman District and is honored to be chosen TOY for WI for 2008.
