Residency Policy
To attend school in U.S.D. #345, students must live with a resident of the
district and the resident of the district with whom the student is living
must be the student's parent or one who has both physical and legal custody
and is liable by law to maintain, care for or support the child, or is contributing
the major portion of the cost of support of the child. For Non-Residency status, click here. To qualify as living in the district the residence must
meet the qualifications of the
preceding
chapter and the residence must be the residence or place where the student
regularly sleeps each night during the school week. A student residing with
a person other than a parent must establish that, to the reasonable satisfaction
of the superintendent, such person is
a resident of the district and that such person not only has physical and legal
custody of the child but such person is, by law, liable to maintain, care for,
or support the child, or is in fact contributing the
major portion of the cost of support of the student.
